You will need a fairly decent graphics card to run games, a 512mb card should work and your processor will need to be better, an i3 would be fine, with all of the that you would be looking at more then 400 probably. And yes Minecraft does need a graphics card or you will lag

It is expandable to 8GB memory, and I was planning on getting the additional 4GB a little shortly after I get the laptop. But, out of the box, this laptop will still render videos and stuff in a fraction of the time of what my current pc does, which is alright with me lol
TBH if you are editing a rending videos you will need to have decent processor have you considred buying a desktop ?

I was going to get one, but I changed my mind due to college coming right around the corner. I needed a laptop way better than mine (which in reality almost any laptop out now can beat my laptop) for when I go to college. If I got a desktop, then I wouldn't have a laptop for college. So my plan is to get this laptop, then make a desktop when I get the money, so I still have a portable computer no matter what, and then eventually I'll have an even better desktop.
Fair enough but that isn't the best computer for gaming but will run minecraft and should be fine for editing and rendering, still concerned on the processor speed but i don't really know a lot about AMD processors so thats all i can help you with

Through my research it's probably one of the best processors I can afford. Apparently, It's better than i3 processors, but not as strong as i5 processors, which is fine, because I can't afford the i5 processor computer right now anyways.

His CPU / HDD will be a bottleneck more than anything, specifically RAM capacity.

If you're not currently using all of your current RAM capacity to the max, you will see zero impact by upgrading it.

If you are expecting gaming, don't. You can play Minecraft at best. Forget about gaming until you get a desktop. It pains me to say this, but stick to consoles for now.
