Lol I was the one who said it but yeah, we will probably be waiting a while for that to happen. if us the next generation can think. I dont plan on being a president (although it may be hard but i wouldnt lie and would try to follow kennedys path) as he was assassinated. I think the assassination (leading to a conspiracy) was set up by the gov. He was trying to end vietnam war (which made the government money) and shut down the cia. But he was assassinated bfore he can. If i were president, i would step down as i would not have a chance after what happened to kennedy. But yeah, we will be waiting until us the next generation ages as this generation adults are greedy f**ks.

This is too simplistic. The so-called "Greatest Generation" wasn't the architect of our response to fascism and the aftermath of WWII. Their elders were. My parents' generation has much to be proud of, but leaders including Roosevelt, Churchill, Eisenhower, and Marshall were all born between 1874 and 1890. The "Greatests" were born in the 1920's and they answered the call-up for WWII. What were they going to do? Go to jail?

The Greatest Generation has many accomplishments to its credit, but it's legacy isn't spotless. Redirecting the war machinery to chemicals, industrial development, and vertically integrated monoculture brought environmental degradation, industrial pollution, sprawl, and obesity. Mad Men does a fine job of deconstructing the myth of that generation.

As to the Boomers, the anti-war generation quickly grew up and struggled like everybody else to make a living. Perhaps Boomers weren't faced with the Great Depression and WWII but they were saddled with the Cold War, globalization, and the rise of corporate power to the detriment of the individual. Boomers have been treading water or losing ground ever since the 1970's.

Our first Boomer president was Bill Clinton. Our second was George W Bush. To cite Reagan's trickle down economics, deficits don't matter, and a government is the problem pronouncements as evidence of Boomerism ignores the fact that Reagan was born in 1911.

I wonder if some of this op-ed piece has a little chicken and egg problem. I might argue that the 80 year cycle is due to the fact that institutions fail and it takes that long to see the failure, get the institution to adapt, or give up on it and let it die. Then the process of building a new institution commences the cycle repeats.

The treasury department wouldn't release a graph like that, don't post things found on the internet. Obama hasn't done anything for the country except endow us with more debt. Open your eyes to the country and don't go by what others tell you, think for yourselves off the statistics.

I thought that was interesting as i know both presidents are horrible in there ways. But, romney cant keep a single promise in a day. he will say this and change his mind later in the day. Just look up on youtube romney flips or something like that you should see a bunch of videos. Romney will rpobably do the same if president. I jsut wish people were smart not to vote as this election is one of the worst to ever come yet.

Romney's not a president, hes a candidate. Obama never worked a day in his life and never had a real source of income. Before being a politician obama was a community organizer. Obama never ran a business yet he preaches how others should. And to girl who wants my proof, look around you, read a newspaper once and a while. Even liberal newspapers which most are put the stats the way they are and don't sugar coat it. Obama is going into this election with 7 trillion dollars of added debt on his shoulders that every one knows about. Watch the debates, read a newspaper. I personally don't love romney, I don't like his aura, but we definitely don't need obama in for another 4 years, plus the republicans will control the house and possibly the senate meaning we will be stagnant for 4 years.
