1. Play with as many friends as possible, preferably 5 to make a 6 man team. This is highly necessary as lots of clans and top players play HQ and therefore you are at a serious disadvantage if you are matched up with noobs on your team.

2. Communication is vital. To succeed in HQ you must have mics and be constantly making call-outs for your teammates on where the enemies are. This will help you greatly in capturing the HQ and maintaining a high K/D.

3. Use kill streaks that will help your team and help you to capture the HQ. What I mean by this is to not use kill streaks for your own benefit. Things like the Pave Low will help you rack up kills, but won't do anything positive in terms of the objective. The kill streaks that I find most effective on HQ is the Stealth Bomber, UAV, Advanced UAV, Precision Airstrike, Predator Missile, Reaper and the AC-130.

4. Use perks that support the objective. Blast Shield and Extreme Conditioning are two great perks for getting to the HQ faster than everyone else, and being able to sponge frags/semtex/C4.

4. Hold down power/choke points on every map when defending the HQ. This means communicating with your teammates to each hold down a corridor, door or line of sight near the HQ to prevent it from being destroyed/captured.
