To be Honest Guys Rockstar having in production of this game since the launch of GTA IV, and the next gen xbox is not due to release until a further 2 years (2014) and Rockstar will not wait 2 years to release a game, for Next gen xbox.
The production of GTA V can be brought to xbox 360, simply provide 2 or 3 disks for campaign and 1 for Multiplayer, Because Multiplayer game mechanics use much less disk space than the campaign.
The Next gen Playstation (PS4)(Proof)http://www.officialplaystationmagazine.co.uk/tag/playstation-4/
Is due to be released for Next Year costing around $500-700 and around 400-600
GTA SA Can run perfectly fine on the Original Xbox which therefore Shows That GTA V with updated Graphics etc. Could most likely Run on the 360 With a Few Disks with Ease.
With the next So therefore i Don't think GTA V is going to be released for next gen consoles only
P.s Next Gen xbox to contain a Price Range of a High end Gaming Computer with much more capabilities than any other Games console ever released.

I kinda figured it wouldn't be for next gen, when it it probably coming out this year, there will be a new GTA for the next gen console I bet though.

i kindve doubted it being for a next gen console because the trailer had the xbox 360 thing at the end of it (i think)

GTA 4 could only run on the xbox because the map was tiny. If the rumors are true about the map size of GTA 5, then you would need AT LEAST two or three discs for single player alone. The xbox drives cant handle bigger than a DL disk (8.5GB of space), your average game comes in at around 5-6GB, and as we all know, GTA is not your average game.
I also read on here that Rockstar wouldnt know about a next gen console, thats false! If they game devs didn't know when a console was being release, how would they know to make a game specifically for its release date?
The amount of graphics power, map size, vehicles weapons, pedestrians, audio files i.e EVERYTHING, in the game, the xbox could not cope.
And if rumours are also to beleived, as so many of you do, we could see the next Xbox as soon as fall 2013, due to the release of windows 8, and microsoft seeming to make all their devices compatible with each other, like what apple do with iCloud. I've heard it is also been called 'xBox 8'.

The map size is a big deal for the 360 but if multiplayer is on one disc like bf3 then you should be able to fit the whole map and multiplayer mechanics onto one disc, and remember gta 4 is around 8gb because of the single and multiplayer on one disc

Exactly, the map size is a big deal, so its irrelevant if there are two discs, because you'll still have to have the massive map on BOTH, therefore it wouldn't work. And installing the map on the hard drive is impractical, and sales would drop quite significantly, there is no feasible way, that I can see, for them to release just yet.

This is dumb, someone should make a official post about this,
In video games, the textures and maps take up the most room on a disc! Data is simple numbering and letters
Which takes no room compared to the textur and data, for exmple, the map pack 3 for call of duty waw is like 0.5 gbs' of room(correct me if I am wrong) which then if you think of gta 5 supposed big map, you gotta think that's a lot
So in gta 5, why would they have a multiplayer disc and a single player disc? The map at least takes up almost a good 50 percent of the disc on a 8.5 gb dl
Anyways, if they were to have multiple discs(which who knows, this might be a xgd3 game where they have a really compressed ISo file that can't fit on a regular 8.5 dl disc and only have one disc in general) one of them or two of them would be used for installing to the hardrive most likely
