Because it adds style to the post and in the case of text size and emboldening it makes it easier to read. i do it all the time so people can organize the writing easier. Here's an example:

Without Bold or Underline:

With Bold and Underline:

It doesn't really bother me that much.

I think people just do it to be different/unique.

You might have a medical problem if it "Bothers" you. Its really personal prefrence. Just dont read it.
