Lately, my xbox is overheating after a small period of time, why is this?

Also its making my room unbelievably hot, so I need to know how I can prevent this.

My xbox is currently standing up, shall I lay it down?

Make sure the xbox isn't in an enclosed area.

I have like 3 games under mine for a stand and my box is in the open. No problems.

They sell fans at GameStop, and yes, its been proven that an Xbox that's vertical is going to get hotter than one that's flat.

Leave it for a bit make sure it is cool and put it in an open area , also put a fan on it or go out and buy a fan that you can put on your xbox if you really need it

My friend let me use his intercooler for a few days and I left my Xbox on for 2 days straight and it was never hot. I suggest getting one.

Get a intercooler for you xbox.

They sell them at gamestop.

lay it down and also have a fan in your room. It recirculates the air and also aids in keeping the xbox cool

You can get extra fans to attach to the back so it get's more cool air to it...
