ok when i downloaded arma 2 and arma 2 operation arrowhead, i clicked NOT to install battleye on the original download, now when i play DayZ, it says i need battleye but when i try to reinstall it through steam, it comes up an error 'missing string', please help as i waited ages for this but now im just p*ssed off

Uninstall your Arma 2, and reinstall.
