BlackPhazor wrote iPad 3- Competitively priced, plus no other manufacturer has been able to bring a Retina-like display

This, I disagree with. The iPad was one of the first successful tablets and still is, they can charge whatever they want and other companies follow their pricing plan to seem reasonable.

Uncertainty wrote First of all apple care is 3 years, and standard warranty is 1 year. I have had my macbook pro for 2 years and it still runs the same as the day I got it. To be honest I think you either have horrible luck, or you treat your stuff like sh*t

Whether you believe me or not, I treat everything I own with respect, especially expensive Apple devices. And yes AppleCare is 3 years warranty but I'm talking about the 1 year basic warranty that comes with all Apple products. Maybe I have horrible luck, maybe you're lucky, or maybe they make the products differently where you are? The last idea is probably irrelevant as US and UK Apple products are both made in China, the only difference being they don't use the exchange rate, a 500 dollar iPhone will be a 500-600 pound iPhone :L, but still nonetheless, an idea.

Apple is like Beats. You're paying for the name not the quality. For instance you can tell someone who likes Apple knows nothing about computers, like someone who likes Beats don't know anything about headphones.

I own two Apple iMacs, and I love them. I like my PC as well but I just find myself using my Macs more. It's all personal preference.

I said the first quote, not Uncertainty, and when compared to other tablets it is competitively priced. Other companies do not follow their price plan, and if anything usually try to undercut them in price. They can't in this case, therefore the iPad 3 is competitive. Apple cannot charge whatever they want, they can't charge 1000+ because no one would buy it and an increase of price would cause less people to buy it.

See now that is a generalization.

I quite like apple, I have a Mac Book Pro at home and a big ol' iMac at work. I understand there are more cost efficient options, but I'd rather have a Mac. I like them more than PC's, the aesthetics, the build, and the OS.

Not exactly. Apple makes very good quality laptops, and not every thing is about specs. For example, the build quality, trackpad, OS, keyboard, user experience, support, and reliability are more important to some than specs. Many people such as IT professionals, tech journalists, video editors, photo editors and other people involved in computers use Mac's and it is ignorant to say that those people know nothing about computers, as many of those people know more about computers than you.

I own a lot of Apple products and Beats, you must think I'm an idiot.

However, I agree I know pretty much NOTHING about headphones, I believe Beats do offer somewhat good quality sound, other headphones I would consider are Bose and Sennheiser, maybe they're considered 'mainstream' and that's why, but I just think they are good headphones. So I sort of understand where you're coming from with your second assumption.

On the other hand, without trying to sound too big headed, I believe I know a large deal about computers and technology as I've done nothing but work with computers and other electrical devices since a very young age (4-5). By no means am I a prodigy of computing and I may not be as much of a tech-geek as you are but I understand why people choose PC over Mac and vice versa. I consider myself quite neutral as I run Windows on my iMac and use both OS's simultaneously, and while I admire the design and some of the technology Apple use, it has it's downsides, just like PC however. PC offers customization over design and this is why I choose both systems. There is yet to be a perfect OS or computer.
