Alien ware computers i heard were nice but VERY expensive.

I have heard that a decent one would be about $500

there's a new dell gaming one for about 1,000+
alien-ware are 1,000+
so on average a decent one will be about 1,000

I have no idea where you heard that alienware computers are nice. Biggest rip off ever.

My brother is a computer whizz and told me to steer clear from them.

He spent all in all just under 1000 where as alienware you are looking in the region of 1500-3000. His computer can run any game on ultra graphics...

so to answer the topic question, i'd say between 700-1000 minimum.
