Same thing happens to me the problem is that 2 lights means it overheats inside because it might be very dusty inside or because it's not in well ventilated area , if that keeps happening you
Might need to go get it fixed.. Hope that helped

It's over heating. Try to set a fan up next to the Xbox. Make sure the actual Xbox fan isn't clogged with anything.

You sir are unlucky. When I got my first 3RROD it gave me 2 lights and then 3. Now 2 lights could mean something is miss-plugged like the AV cables or HDMI, try unplugging any USB and re plug your system wires, if that does not fix it then you better have a 2 year warranty . Try cleaning it and keeping it cool, placement is important for electronics.

As said above, it is due to overheating. One of my old xbox's did the same thing. I tried almost everything I could think of to prevent it, I couldn't fix it. I got a new xbox. Its pretty annoying, but best of luck to you.

Here's more info
2 lights - this happens when your game console over heats due to an extensive amount of game play. This problem is a bit less stressful and can easily be fixed by postponing game play and unplugging the device until the system has had adequate time to cool down. A way to prevent this simple complication is to monitor the amount of usage of the console. I suggest no more than 3 hours of game play over an 8 hour period. This includes DVDs as well, as they tend to overheat your Xbox 360 at an even faster rate because it uses more bandwidth, causing the GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) to overheat.

3 lights - this could be a symbol of quite a bit of malfunctions with your game console. The three lights is what most people refer to as "The Red Ring of Death".

2 lights so it is overheating. Try lifting it up for a while and see if that helps also you could take it apart and clean it to prevent dust. Hope I helped
