I have been thinking about this for a while and just want to get some input on it. There could be something I am missing so please don't flame, just tell me.
We are called the human race. We are a race, apes are a race, elephants are a race, ect. What I want to know is why are whites, Asians, blacks, and hispanics races? Shouldn't they be species? Maybe we humans come from extraterrestrial origin, and maybe we are different races. I personally don't see who we have that much differences for being on the planet, but I guess no one will ever truley know until we (assuming you believe in evolution) find the missing links in evolution. Or, I guess, if or when we are visited be aliens and with everything unclassified (which I doubt will happen anytime soon.)
Remember this is just something I wanted opinions on. If there are things that would make this make sense then tell me. I love science but don't understand it half of the time lol.

I was just confused on how different races could produce offspring with one another. I understand if you genetically alter 2 different creatures together, but that's something totally different. Like I said, I don't know much about science so this whole post may have a very simple answer. I was just curious as to why it is the way that it is. I may have overlooked something, so I was just wondering if someone of this board knew the answer.

Humans are the species and the various groups within are the races I believe. Or It could be the other way around.

I believe that we are of extra-terrestrial origin. The ancient alien race saw that Earth was a vibrant and resourceful planet . Maybe their planet was under threat from their sun burning out and they had to escape. When they arrived they saw that Earth was crawling with dinosaurs and wiped them out.

This is what I was thinking when I posted this but got flamed, lol. I was thinking maybe the different races were different alien races with the same characteristics (for the most part.) Maybe we are an experiment planet to see how the different races live and potentially react with one another. This is total outside-the-box type thinking but hey, something to think about. Just a theory on why humans look (and somewhat physically) different than others. I would expect some differences but the appearances are so different it is crazy. I seriously doubt you can get those results from evolving from primates.

Maybe we could be bacteria from an asteroid and when he hit earth we survived and evolved to hums today.
