This is so pointless - my friend has about $1400 saved for his new build, and he wants to go AMD only for his new build. He also refuses to build it by himself so he's buying from ibuypower.com even if I helped him. From what I can see, this doesn't look too bad, but CrossFiring AMD 7770s, don't you think that's a bit much? He already plans on keeping the SSD and HD that he owns.
Here are the specs:
AMD FX-8150 CPU (8x 3.60GHz/8MB L2 Cache)
G.Skill 8GB RAM 4GBX2
AMD Radeon HD 7770 - 1GB CrossFire Mode (Dual Cards)
MOBO: Gigabyte GA-970A-D3 -- AMD 970
700 Watt - Standard
1 TB HARD DRIVE -- 32M Cache, 7200 RPM, 6.0Gb/s (What ibuypower.com offers cheap, even though he already has a 1TB WD)
He'll be putting in his 60GB SSD as well.
*TOTAL: $1276
Good build for the price, but I'm still curious about the CrossFire'd graphics cards...Let me know what my friend should change..

Everything. I don't even want to begin to know how this is even close to $1,200.

Two 7770's = $300. You're stuck with two lower end video cards ( perform on 6850 range but draw less power ). He could grab a single AMD 7950 and have better performance now and not have to worry about scaling issues and in the future when the card starts to fade away slap another one in there. Switch the garbage AMD CPU to a 2500k / ASRock MOBO. Tell him a guy who is blindfolded built his own PC within an hours time - if he still says no, unfriend him.

For that price, the PC is terrible. Not sure why he would want to go AMD with a budget of $1400, should get an i5 2500K. Also, he should get a 670 instead, IMO the best GPU and all he'd ever need. There isn't even a case in the list either. Just post in the PC build sticky with the budget and they'll sort out a build for you, would be way better than this. Make sure he builds it too, or at least has help building it.

Ugggh, didn't even notice the low end prone-to-fail PSU. Again, I'm still shocked that this is even above $1,000. Can easily do a 670/2500k rig for this price.

Tell him that he is just throwing away money.
If he wants a good build he'll have to do it himself or maybe you.
And this comes from a guy who didn't know much of computer but still made his own.

Thanks for the feedback, you have no idea how hard it was to convince him it was absolute sh**. Now he's looking at the i5 3570K and probably a gtx 570 Superclocked. He's also convinced to let me build it with him instead of ordering from ibuypower or something.

Personally, with that budget I'd get a build like this:

That is the sort of build I would like to get when I have the money. That is just what I'd get, I'd still recommend checking out the PC build sticky, they will make you a build better than what I came up with, this can just give you an idea I guess.

Good pc but the dual 7770's is not worth the scaling issues you will have, i ver get one 7870, or a 7950, or a gtx 670, best performance out of all of them.
