I'm thinking of buying solo hds and i hear a lot about how they're great and how they're the worst. I just want a few people's HONEST opinions. I dont want your opinion if you've only heard things. I want real owners to come forth.

There is a difference between having an opinion and facts.

I've compared them side by side with a number of headphones and logged a good bit of time with them. They're actually among the worst-sounding headphones I've ever heard. My $20 Koss Portapro has far better sound quality, which is just straight up embarrassing. Frequency response curves, square waves, specs, and subjective impressions back up my opinions. The thing about Beats is that it's not as much opinion as one might assume, they're awful because of cold, hard facts. I can not think of a stupider headphone to buy off the top of my head.

Dude, there are two threads that are technically about Beats in the front page, both speaking ill about them. The Solos are probably their worst headphone. Possibly the worst headphone, at any price. I'd buy those terrible Skullcandy Skullcrushers with the rumble packs on the headband before buying Solos. To add on to r00t_b33r's post, my $5 Koss KSC75's beat even the $300 Studios in every category of sound.

And don't think I'm speaking out of my ass, I have way too much experience with different headphones costing from $5 to $1,000 (if you need actual proof, visit Headfonics.com for my reviews), so I truly know what sounds good and what doesn't. Beats (all of them) just don't sound any good. Heck, it'd be smarter to buy McDonalds will your $170 than Solos, which is probably the most caustic comparison I can think of...

^^^You could buy gold-plated iBuds...those are about $1,000.

Better durability, sound quality, and portability. At least they're listenable. These, though...

Wouldn't hipsters avoid these like the plague due to their popularity?
