Hello not long ago i got the E74 error on my Xbox 360 and i was wondering is there any other way to get it fixed as i'm familiar that it needs servicing i called up xbox and they was saying it was a ridiculous price. If you could help please reply back.

You can take it apart and do it yourself. The stuff to do it will only cost around 15 dollars and take a few hours. I have fixed a few myself. Just search for a video on youtube or google how to fix your error

Like A_Wiggly_PP said you could have a go at fixing it yourself but they don't always work and you could end up $15 out of pocket and still have a broken console, so if you're willing to pay the extra I would look for a service in the marketplace and send it to somebody to have it reflowed.
However if you do choose to try and repair it yourself whatever you do DO NOT do the towel trick, I suggest getting a repair kit of some kind and try to avoid the "homemade" fixes.

Ok since im not so good with fixing these sort of problems, i may just send it off to someone or see if anyone is interested in buying it.
