How can I disable this 'smartbar' permanently?Posted:

Well recently, this extension on google chrome appeared without no word of warning, and will not leave, here is a picture below:

I've tried to disable, remove and more multiple times, but everything google chrome starts up, the 'smartbar' edits the homepage, adds a stupid unwanted taskbar and is very annoying, also, I'm sure it's removed something from google chrome, in the image below:

If you need anymore details, please ask, I just want to permanently delete this from my PC.


I use Windows 7.

Sounds like something running at startup or a service on your computer. I'm not the expert with these things, but I have acceptable knowledge and might be able to help. It might be easy to simply re-install Chrome as well.

Press the Windows key and "r" at the same time, and type "msconfig" in the box that appears. Check the "Services" and "Startup" tabs for anything that looks suspicious. If you could post screenshots of startup items you see and services that are running, I might be able to help. If you're not comfortable posting them, don't, but you can always PM me.
