TBH mate i cant tell the difference there both good so you cant really tell a step up cause the i5 is so good already

The $100 difference is not just because there is a very slight increase in speed, but because the 2600k has hyper-threading cores meaning it has 4 cores and 8 threads where as the 2500k has 4 cores without hyper-threading. The only time you should even consider a 2600k is if your main use for this computer is editing, and I don't mean creating an avatar in GIMP, I mean heavy Adobe work, Photoshop, AutoCAD, 3D modelling, architecture programs, etc. There is no difference between the two in games.

Yes, the i5-2500k would be a better choice.

Yes the i5 is better in your case, use the extra $100 dollars you save towards a better video card unless you are already getting a top of the line one.
