heres my opinion.

The right to freedom of religion stands in this country and always has been. And not all Muslims are bad. Just the radicals. There are radicals for every religion. There are Muslim radicals, and even Christian radicals. They usually form militias. Note the time that a large Christian radical militia was going to attack the NYC policemen but were stopped. Jewish radicals can be found in Israel.

Now, the Islamic religion is actually based off of peace. And they do not care about non Muslims. Their sight is "if they aren't Islam, dont worry. They will pay for it in the end." Just like Christianity and Judaism. The radicals in all three religions believe in an "infidel" system. In which people who aren't in their religion is their enemy and must be killed.

So I see no reason for people to not like the idea based off of the religion or the people. I am, however, still against the mosque. Why? Wrong place, wrong time.

We are at war with a Muslim country. The Muslim radicals destroyed the twin towers. Now we wish to build a mosque there? It's common sense people! Dont do it! I know the freedom of religion stands. That is a right you have in this country. But you also have the right to keep and bare arms. Let me show you where Im going with this. If someone walked into a daycare with a concealed gun in his pocket, but didn't kill anyone or intend to, and got in trouble for it. What he just did is perfectly legal. He will use the excuse, "I have the right to keep and bare arms!" true. You do. But common sense should have told you, NO GUNS NEAR LITTLE KIDS! You don't need a law to think to yourself about it. The same goes for the mosque. Just because you have the right to religion, doesn't mean you should build a mosque in a place where it will obviously cause trouble.

People are a little weird about the Muslims and 9/11 still. Even though you have the right to religion, its too soon to put a mosque near ground-zero. If we went back to 1943 and someone wanted to build a Shinto (Japanese religion) shrine near Pearl Harbor, would you let them? No. It's too soon and tension still exists. Would we do it today? Yes we would. Only because the tension has gone away between Japanese and Americans. The tension still exists between Muslims and Americans today. So it's too soon to put it there.

My solution; Cancel the plan, and build it somewhere else. It would solve a lot of problems. Besides, if it is built near ground-zero, it would be vandalized and destroyed in a matter of days by angry mobs. Just save the trouble and go somewhere else.

They could have built in anywhere else and i would have been fine with it but right there i mean come on. They iman or however you spell it that wants to build it is a huge anti american and says its americas fault that 9/11 happened. But your are correct, in the muslim faith the biggest sin you can to is to kill another human being.
