Epic stated that they don't want a human vs human game a while back.

Jozh's answer actually makes sense. Presscock didn't get much time on screen, so this could actually just be a DLC announcement. It would make some sense actually.

A couple of rumors-
>It's a DLC
>It's a full new game, kinda like Halo Wars(RTS)
>It's a new game, with just campaign worked into it like Halo:ODST(makes sense)
>It should be released this year. Why build up so much hype for a game that isn't close to release
>It could be the shattered remains of exile, seeing as how that got canceled a while back.

If this happens I'll definitely have to get of Ghost Recon and play some Gears. New characters is all I want though.

Gonna have to agree with you massively! I'd love for the next game to be a prequel style like Halo:ODST. If they do hand their series over to another company for instance like Bungie did for Halo Wars and recreate a strategy style shooter, I will be sincerely upset if a Halo wars style game is created inside of a third-person shooter. I personally feel that, that game would seriously damage Epics reputation for the series..

Plus I'm terrible at strategy games.

i would like a Halo ODST version for gears i guess it would still include horde like how ODST had firefight

They would have to keep the multiplayer in the game, it's one of the many 'main' features of Gears of War apart from the mind-blowing story-line it's the thing mode of choice for most players when deciding if they should buy the game. I can't see them bringing in any new game modes but perhaps bring Annex back and have that and KOTH both as seperate modes where as in KOTH you must stay in the ring. The other game-modes; Warzone, Execution, Guardian, Capture the Leader, Team Deathmatch Etc, I can see still being used.

If they really wanted to expand on their multiplayer they could perhaps give consideration of a game-mode that relies hugely on team-work perhaps one where there are two teams of 4-5 and they both have to battle as a squad to hold off hordes of locust, lambent and any other enemies they decided to bring in, score multipliers for kill combos and bigger combos means more points, the team with the most points at the end of the game (8-10 minutes long) is the winner, this is sorta of the idea of the versus game-modes from Resident evil 5 (if anyone has played that game) where you work together to get points by killing enemies.

Either way if they decide to not bring in multiplayer I'll see be a happy fan aslong as the story mode continues for a LONG time and doesn't end quickly and also if there is alot to do after you've finished it like collectables, easter eggs etc etc.

That make's sense I would be fine with that even though i have the season pass I still love gears 3 MP
