Minecraft SEEDS are basically obfuscated 'codes' that change the way the world and terrain are generated. Some 'seeds', may make your world have MASSIVE mountains, while others may be endless oceans. When you go to create a world, on both PC and XBOX, there is a "seed" option. It is not necessary, but may satisfy your desire of terrain.

Enter a seed of your choice, whether you think of it or find it off the web.
