Whoever wrote that article rushed it and didn't cover anything for that matter. An LGA 2011 CPU for a gaming rig is a complete waste, and so is a 2600k for that matter. Any AMD CPU whether it be a $500 budget to a $3,000 should not be even in the list since they can't compete with themselves and Intel. The author suggests a PSU from a company that has horror stories all over the web, overkill RAM, and a low end video card considering the huge budget. You could build a 2500k + Crucial SSD + NHD14, and GTX 670 rig if you really tried. I can suggest a way better build but I'd need to know if you want me to include a genuine copy of Windows, any monitors or accessories.

The overall price will be reflected on what kind of games you want to play. I'm not too into mice/keyboards so messaging r00t_b33r would be a good choice - but I'd say anywhere from $50 - $70 for both would get you something good. Here's the actual build below.

$1,051.89 for the tower with a genuine copy of Windows + $75 for the KB/mouse and that leaves you around $1,125 in total. That's a pretty big gap from $1500 and that leaves you with quite a bit of cash for a nice 120hz monitor from BenQ for example or to save it up if you want. A GTX 560 ti and a 2500k is going to slice through any game you play. You have lots of room for upgrades in this build since it's a nice, generous 750w Corsair that allows for high OC's on both GPU/CPU and SLI compatibility. Super fast and reliable Crucial SSD as boot so everything will load almost instantly.
