I've been here long enough to understand that half the people on this site have no recognition of the rules whatsoever (Including me until earlier last month)
It's so easy to make an account on this website without going through any rules or regulations. I Think there needs to be a strict rule implementation when entering each sub-forum. In which a pop-up will display with all the rules for the sub-forum, you must agree to the Terms to be able to view/post. Anyone who Disregards these rules, will obviously have no clue of what they can or cannot post, and if any rules are broken, an IP ban will be implemented as soon as the topic/post is discovered by a staff member.

Another issue I see is with the "introduce yourself" section, it's just a place for people to get there "post Account" up. All you see is people posting "Have fun, don't forget to read the rules" When you join the site you should have read the rules when you joined anyway. To be honest i think that whole sub-section should be removed, If you want to get people to know you, Do good for the site, don't post some stupid topic letting people, who in turn, don't give a damn about you, they're just care about there posts on a website. The same goes for the "milestones and Achievements Section" Fair enough let the members post their thanks, but close the topic, so only members can see who has achieved this feat not let everyone post the same god damn thing.

I Know this is only supposed to be about general discussion, but I needed to get this off of my chest. If needed I will post it in the Rant section.
So yeah. Rant/Reply over.

Kalax wrote Isn't the whole idea of General Discussion to be about anything? I mean in the description, it says "this is where everything goes if we don't have a forum for it" - You don't have a forum for rate my gamertag or coke or pepsi so why isn't it allowed?

So you're basically saying that whatever is posted in General Discussion has to do with gaming? Pretty lame if you ask me. Then again, you guys know what's best and I'm not on this site as much as I used to be.

Thanks for the thread though ;)

It's true, anything that doesn't have a section should go in the GD. However, when saying anything we don't actually mean anything. Why would we have a forum for "Rate my Gamertag or "what's better, coke or pepsi?" Those are pointless threads that add nothing relevant or meaningful and have no business being on the site. Threads posted in General Discussion don't necessarily need to be about gaming or tech related in the strictest sense but rather be meaningful, relevant and actually add something worthwhile rather than the general drivel that's posted in this section. As long as your thread is relevant and abides by the rules, there shouldn't be a problem.

Cheers for explaining it a little better. ;)

I agree with you, I'm tired of seeing sub to my youtube or sub to my youtube for 10th lobby, its nice to see some good topics about games in general.

but obviously its nice to talk about real life stuff too but not your personal life ( I HATE THAT )

Innocent wrote I personally agree with you Icy-Tank, this may be a general discussion but it is not a place for people to comment things like 'I need an oG tag' when there is a section with a specific sticky in the xbox 360 general discussion purely because they cannot be asked to look for it

I personally think the rules are fine and people that have been banned or warned after you put the announcement up and the rules have been there for many, many months

p.s If people disagree with me then thumb me down im not fussed

i agree with this and the whole topic

and why would people send death threats over closing stuff

I love the people who are too brain dead to go and look at the rules. Then, when they post stupid topics like "I need a Microsoft Points Generator!", watch the post get taken down, then say "Dood why would u ban meh??!??!?! Staff is Corrupt!". This website's forum qaulity has gone down so far from what it was a year ago. Now, it's just filled with leechers upon leechers and people arguing about stupid things.

Thanks for this topic icy-tank. But for some reason I still think that most little kids will take advantage of you, which isn't right. I think you're one of the best and one of the most active staff members on this site.

All true , might be a gaming community but if you are in General Discussion and all you wanna do is leech or get post for nothing well then you should leave this website to avoid spamming. Getting flamed topic with good discussion is what we need.
