im new to pc's and i bougth a dell xps 2011 edition for 899$ im spending money on this computer for gaming cause im tired of consoles but anyways my graphics card i have now is a ATI Radeon Hd5450, And i think the one my uncle is giving me is a gt9800 idk what one is better or what i should stick with so if i could get some help and some pointers on computer's and such please do help i will rep also.

They are both terrible and not geared towards gaming in current time. It sucks you got scammed and went with dell and dropped $900 on a PC that doesn't have the performance of a $500 custom build.

Everything is perfect with the computer i got right now it just need's 16 or 24 gb of ram would be nice and an up on a graphics card i plan to put more and more money into this computer. But if you could answear the question rather then calling both graphics cards shitty i would like to know whats the better shitty one....

Technically the 9800gt. But you're not going to run current or 1-2 year older games on desired settings. Increasing RAM won't show any performance difference unless you're capping out right now and that'd doubtful. Just note it uses more power compared to the 5450 and doesn't support dx11.

The 9800gt is only temporary for awhile i'm gettin it for free i just got done buying some sub's and an amp so yeah in about a month or two i'll be ready to drop a good 300$-450$ on a graphics card.

They both suck, but the 9800 is the better choice.

Can anyone suggest a decent graphics card thats better then the two i have atm? but not to expensive?

Dropping 450$ on a Card and a Crap rest of your computer is not good. It will bottleneck, not getting your total performance.

So what is your current specs.

As long as you have a reasonably clocked dual core, something like a 6770 or even a 6850 should be adequate for today's games at 720p. They retail for around 100 pounds, not sure what the conversion is in to dollars.

Bearing in mind for any mid range to high end GPU you will need a suitable PSU and enough space and ventilation in your case to allow your card to breath.
