I'm building a Custom PC, so i'll need a case. Looking at some and i've found some smart ones with LED's and stuff.

Just wanted to know, are they worth it? Or do they slow down PC in anyway or otherheat it?

Below is an example of a case i might be buying; [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I wouldn't get one where the lights have no use..
Try to get one where there are fans built-in to the case and the fans have LED's...

e.g. Antec Three Hundred Illusion

I kid. Honestly I think LEDs look garish and terrible if they're not implemented tastefully. I think the best looking builds have color-coordinated parts (Black, white, and another) and no lighting. Subtle lighting sometimes looks good, but that's rarely what I see. I see stupid different-colored lights that are not tasteful in any way.

They do not effect anything in the system.

Subtlety is beautiful and functional.

I have the CM Storm Enforcer which come equipped with a front red 200MM led fan and a descent sized side window. I added an NZXT led strip and anothe 200mm red led fan for exhaust. I really enjoyed it at first and at the point in time I thought it looked slick, but after a couple of weeks I felt it was more of a gimmick if anything. If I had to do it over again, I'd grab a Shinobi XL / Design XL ( shown in the picture above, but that's the non XL I believe ). But it really comes down to what YOU like. All I'm going to say is that there is better cases you can get for your money.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ] is the case that's in the picture. It's a really good case - I like how it has sound damping material as well.

I would not do it. It's like a gaming console, you open it an it voids your warranty. Do not play with it if you know how to fix it if it breaks
