It does help you, the more subs you have and the more views you have to more noticed your channel will become therefor getting more views and subscriptions on its own, this is just a jump-start, nowhere did I say this would suffice for a long term channel, this is just a jump-start to get your profile noticed, real or not, it'll help you.
