Hey guys,

This is my first PC build and i had a few questions;

Is this is good build? This is my first time and I don't know everything about computers but I'm learning

How long do you think this will last? I will probably be upgrading it threw out the years and I'm hoping it will last at least 6-7 years or more.

I really would like to know how this will do with the game SWToR. Would this allow me to play smoothly on High settings and if not can you please tell me what I need for it to do so? And for the hell of it, can you tell me the settings Battlefield 3 could be played on using this build?

The i5 is as good as the i7 it just dosnt have hyper threading which is useless for gaming.
On topic Your build will do great for gaming. It will last about a year or two tell you have to upgrade some parts. 7/10 would be an 8 if you were to get a better case (My Opinion)

Yeah, I wasn't to sure about that case, I'm still looking at some. Do you think you can recommend one to me that's not very expensive?

That looks like a nice PC. But here is just some suggestions for you.

I recently upgraded to a HUGE case that was only 100 dollars, and has room for everything.

I have that same processor, and i used to have that same cooling system. But i then upgraded to the Noctua NH-D14. It keeps my pc cooler than watercooling. I have my CPU OC'd to 5 gHz stable running at 30 degrees Celsius (about 90-100 Fahrenheit) idle. W/o OC it runs at 20-25 c. Which is pretty cold for a PC.

And i reccomend not buying Windows 7, In a few hours i will be posting a tutorial on how to install windows 7 ultimate via USB. It saved me money on my build, and it could save you some money too.

Also is that Video the card that runs for about 290? If it is, dont get it. I have the Radeon HD 6950 which is a wicked nice video card, every pc game i have played has been 60 fps (battlefield 3, crisis 2 , hl2)

Just some reccomendations, but the rest of it looks good.

You'll easily be playing BF3 @ 1080p on med-high settings with above 50 fps constant.

I'm not going to disagree with you that the case and the stock cooler aren't the best options RIGHT NOW, but why spend money on the parts that affect performance as much as a better video card ( not that he needs one anyways ). A 560 ti and a 560 ti 448 core are to different GPU's. The 560 ti 448 core is much faster and will get you a lot better frame--rates compared to a 6950. OP, the build is flawless. But you did ask for some case recommendations in your price range, and a Zalman Z9 / HAF 912 fits that category. Both are made of sturdy construction and have descent airflow and allot huge video cards.

Im sure theyre both great video cards, i just know mines a little cheaper, and runs 60 fps. which is still great. I couldnt find the video card he was getting on newegg, so i couldnt really compare it. And to the OP, you wanted a link, here it is: [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Looking at the case you posted and I realized it only came with one front 120mm fan. If you chose to pick that case I would recommend buying some extra fans which would cost like 20bucks for the back and top of the case to keep the air flowing. I would recommend buying [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ,I just bought the rosewill challenger-u3 a couple months ago when i built my own rig and its doing fine. things I like about the ranger is that its a all black finish on the inside, tool-less drive bays which i love, usb 3.0 and the 120mm front rear and 140mm top, and more fans if needed. Other than that everything looks good, if you want to save $100 bucks you could burn windows 7 onto a disc thats what I did.
