you probably do not have a scratch. more likely a laser burn. or in other words, buy a new disc

Toothpaste has ruined some of my games.

Rent or borrow a copy, copy it to the harddrive and use the scratched disc to start it.

If it is a perfect circle then you have to buy a new one.
If not, try taking it to a gaming store and they will clean it.
You can also try doing the toothpaste method.

there is no point doing that. if you go to a game store that does game repairs like blockbuster, they put it in a machine that takes a layer off you disk and then it should work. but if they are very deep nothing can help you really

I have used the toothpaste method and it works for certain scratches but not the one you have. :/
You my sir have the perfect circle because you bumped your xbox so you are limited to only one way to fix it. Which is go to a local video store and pay the 2 dollars or 2.50 to get it cleaned. The toothpaste will work for only minor scratches. If you do use the toothpaste make sure it doesnt have the little microbeads in it. Thatll fiike it all up.

or
Get a mete to install his disc on your Xbox/ps3
and it should work

Go to a game retailer and get your disk cleaned by them, don't bother doing these silly little methods because the only real way is to get a layer of the disk taken off by a machine. I take mine to Blockbuster and get it fixed for 2 pound, don't risk home-made solutions dude!
