Before you read this please dont answer saying go to apple or anything like that my ipod is 2 years old. So its obviously out of warranty. My itunes was just updated last night and still nothing?

Alright so last night my iPod was running slow. Before I go any further I would just like to say the iPod was jailbroken thats why I was restoring in the first place. So I pressed restore and I got a 3194 error. I know theres 5.1 out and I dont want to update to it because if I decide to re jailbreak it wont be untethered. I tried editing my hosts file and it put my device into recovery mode and it gave me a 21 error code. Is there anyway to restore to 5.0.1 without problems?

First try to turn off your iPhone, with the sync cable not plugged in.
Then hold down the home button (iPhone still off) and plug in the sync cable. (Keep holding the home button until iTunes pops up).
You have now entered force recovery mode.
Now try to update the iPhone, using iTunes, as instructed.
That should work.
Hope I helped!

hey, give this a try.

download snowbreeze
create a custom ipsw
put your phone into dfu then use ireb to bypass 1600 error
restore in itunes using shift+click restore and select the file

if that doesnt work then either stick with the slowness or update to 5.1 an unthether wont be long anyway

Not trying to be a dick but you should put this in the iOS device forum. You will get more help there
