Hello everyone,

I recently obtained an Xbox 360 from a friend of mine.
The Xbox was NEVER opened, so I know it wasn't flashed or hacked.

The system will load up fine, and it has the latest dashboard already.

I tried to put in a game and when it loaded it said "Play DVD".
Once I click "Play DVD" the Xbox logo will appear and freeze there.

I got a new drive and put it in, and it still says "Play DVD" even with the new drive.
I heard that you need to flash the DVD key to the new drive or something like that.

My computer is running Windows 7 64bit, and I heard most "Xbox Modification Tools" will not work on this operating system.

Can someone please explain to me why this problem is occurring, and maybe give me a tutorial on how to fix this and find a solution.

I don't care if I can't play online, I would settle to play offline if I have to mod/ flash the drive.

Thanks in advance, Trytohaxme.

if the old drive has the dvd key but is just faulty then do a board swap.
old dvd drive to new one. then it will work.

as for extracting dvd key from the mobo i dont think its possible on a retail xbox
