hi ttg i have a 500gb external hard drive witch it not letting me delete or move anything off it or onto it the error message i'm getting is Error 0x80071AC3: The operation could not be completed because the volume is dirty" on windows 7. i was trting to move a m ovie onto it from my desktop and it came up with that does anyone know how to fix it i would be extremley grateful

The only thing I can think of is defragmenting your hard drive.

the only way i can think of is if you back up all your files then format to NTFS then copy all your data back.
but im no computer wiz so ya know

The_Pink_Thumper wrote the only way i can think of is if you back up all your files then format to NTFS then copy all your data back.
