the ping patch is used to allow people to connect to you if you are hosting.

the ping patch is for the user on the jtag to be able to connect to people not the other way around.OP have you checked your xlink server ui and checked the run with out http being open box? you may need to open the xlink ports on your router for the jtag uPnP doesnt always catch it.

Like one of the other replies said, you might have to open ports in your firewall in order for the orbital mesh to connect. If xlink is not even seeing your xbox, try putting in a game and searching for system link matches. While searching for system link matches - use the kai engine interface on your pc to manually configure your xbox. If you can't get it working manually with your pc - there is no way you will be able to use the automatic process built into freestyle dash. The ping patch removes the 30ms ping restriction for system link games. Even if you have everything setup correct - without the ping patch you probably will not find any games. You should be able to connect to kai with or without the patch. You should only have to bridge connections if you have 2 NIC cards in your pc. Configure one for your internet, the second is connected via ethernet crossover cable to your xbox. Bridge the two network connections and you should be good - IF YOU ARE USING THIS CONNECTION METHOD. The easiest is using a router, in which case, you do not need to bridge connections. Does Kai see your xbox, just not connected to the orbital mesh, or is your box not even found. Can you ping your box from the pc running the kai engine.

Well i can't see my xbox but it connects to orbital fine, i am running this on FSD, i might try to allow the open ports on the pc firewall as i have already port forwarded the right ports.

how i can see my xbox when on original dashboard no FSD and i get this when i used a tutorial for wireless and entered an alternative mac however it's the original xbox.

it works fine in the router but because my box and pc are in different rooms makes it hard to connect both to router.
