Firstly, this thread is relying on evolution. If you are ignorant and don't believe in evolution,

Evolution is the process of an organism changing over time to suit it's environment. Organisms are said to evolve because of genetic mutations occurring over large periods of time. Eventually, these mutations add up until a new species is formed. With this being said, there must be some sort of mutation line, that when it is crossed, a new species is formed.

Whatever the ancestor of the chicken is, faced these mutations. One of them gave birth to offspring, and the offspring crossed the line. The first chicken was born from that egg laid by the ancestor.

The Answer: The egg came first.

But the egg wouldn't be there without the chicken. Nor the chicken be there without the egg.

Therefore my post was correct.

It would though. They egg was laid by the ancestor of the chicken, but that one particular egg had the last mutation needed to cross the line and be considered a new species. Therefore, the egg came first.
