This post is to help all the people who have the red ring of death..
Most of you probaly know this but there is a easy way to do this procedure.
Its called the towel trick and this is how you do it.
1.Take three towels like shower towels or anything
2. take your xbox take out disk ,hdmi cable and hardrive put them on the side
3.make sure ur power supply is still in and its on no disk inside
4.then take ur towels and wrap around xbox no air showing just the power supply cord should be the only thing sticking out
5. once thats done let you xbox sit there ON for 25mins wrapped in the towels in practically bakes it
6. once the 25mins is up take it out of the towlel let it set for 10min without putting hardrive in or hdmi
7. 10mins is UP FINNALYY PLUG BACK IN SUPPLIES AND START IT UP IT ALWAYS WORKS FOR ME TRY IT.
This is not a perma fix thought it usally works for about 1 month for me my xbox is crap thoough it could perma fix for you

i just hit it on the top and blow into it from the disc tray... all my friends do this. worked 16 out 16 times....

That works for me too, but I also kinda failed. Sent away for a repair of the xbox but all I needed to do was unplug the Power Brick and plug it back in.

nobody gets the red ring unless they have like the ORIGINAL 1st version of the xbox360
