Say you want to play a game with ONLY your friends, and YOU want to be the host, and its a game with dedicated servers, like CoDWaW or CSS.

Well in the tutorial i will explain how to install Hamachi (a VPN which stands for viritual private network.), and play with your friends in a LaN game OVER THE INTERNET

!!WARNING!! If you think that this will speed up the connection because its considered a "lan" connection. your WRONG!.

things you'll need:
Hamachi
download link:http://www.filehippo.com/download_hamachi/download/37a72a6e03012b731483e8b136bf451f/

Ability to change your network settings, (what im saying is that it may not work if like parental controls are on.)

Step One:
download and install Hamachi to wherever you wish to install to.

Step Two:
Run hamachi and Click the Power button to continue,
then it should ask you for a username (it defaults to your computer name, so its gonna be something stupid like zak-137 AE444 or summin like that.), just enter your desired alias.

Step Three:
You will need to either Create a New network OR Join an Existing network.

IF YOU WANT TO CREATE A NETWORK:
there should be 2 boxes right in the center of the program
one that says Create a New Network or Join an Existing Network.
for this click create new, now this is important that you keep documentation of your server info or NO ONE WILL BE ABLE TO JOIN!
Enter the desired Server name you want for example: Adam's CSS LaN
then Enter the Desired password for the server for ex: 1234
(im not sure, i havent used hamachi in a while, so i forget if you actually need to create a password.)

IF YOU WANT TO JOIN AN EXISTING NETWORK:
this is if your friend has already created the server, and you are going to join his/her server.
in hamachi go to the "System tab" and click Join an Existing Network.
in the boxes enter the information of the server.

Step Four:
In order for everyone to connect, EVERYONE must have hamachi and must ALL join the same server.
Everyone must also set Hamachi as their priority connection.

IN WINDOWS XP:
Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections
Once there go to the top and click on the Advanced tab, then click Advanced settings...
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Then it will bring you to the Advanced Settings of your Network Connections,
from there go to Adapters and Bindings and under "connections", your going to need to bump Hamachi up to the very top.
such as in the picture below.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

after you bump hamachi up to the top, you are in a network and after you restart, you should be ready to start LaN gaming over a VPN.

IN WINDOWS VISTA/7:
Go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center
from there click Change Adapter Settings.
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

THIS IS IMPORTANT:
once there your going to need to click the ALT key in order to bring up the menu bar (shown in the picture below.)
if that doesnt work then hit ALT + N
Go to the Advanced tab > Advanced Settings
[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

from there its pretty much the same as the windows xp settings,
just move hamachi from the bottom of the list ALL the way to the top, then system restart.

after ALL of this, you should be ready to PLAY LAN!

be sure to thank, and some + Rep would be greatly appreciated .
