So this is my first build on OCN and my first "real" gaming rig i have ever built. So i guess ill just go for it.

Components:
-ASUS M5A97 AM3+ Motherboard
-AMD Phenom x4 960 CPU
-Patriot Viper Xtreme Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3 1600 RAM
-XFX Radeon HD 6670 1GB 128-bit DDR3 Video Card
-ENERMAX NAXN Series 550watt Power Supply
-Raidmax Tornado Case (Modified)
-1.5TB Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm Hard Drive
-H&L Storage SATA DVD Drive
-and a few 120mm fans along with a side 80mm fan.

Currently i have the Case, Fans, cheap PSU that came with case (i am buying a new one from Fry's Electronics as soon as i get the rest of the parts), Hard drive, DVD Drive. Currently i have just ordered the RAM, Motherboard and the Graphics card. Along with the PSU i am also going to be buying the Phenom 960 quad from Fry's. I should go there sometime next week after i get the rest of my cash and i get the other parts from UPS.

Some modifications i have made to the casing so far are: Cut out the 3.5in hard drive mounts for better airflow and because i don't want them, mounted the hard drive in a 5.25in bay, painted the entire casing black and mounted fans to the casing. I have also already installed the temporary PSU and done some cable management.

Pics of my progress so far......

IDK how much i have spent so far but i have calculated it out and the total is around $650ish... My MOBO, GPU, and RAM should be here if UPS keeps true to their 3day shipping.

You could have got a better PSU such as a corsiar, XFX, or seasonic.

Other then that, it's good.

I agree... but it came with the case and it is what i can afford right now... I am not too sure about how long it will last and i pray that it does not fry my $500 worth of components that i am getting tomorrow. I hope UPS gets here early lol i don't like waiting and i get very exited about computers. I just went to Fry's electronics today and bought the CPU... i did not buy the quad. i have to settle for the Phenom x2 565 Black Edition... and i am hoping to unlock it to a x4 if possible. I will post pics of my progress in a couple minutes.
