If you get banned the ban will only be for call of duty, you will not be banned on Xbox live.
They reset all your stats and leaves you with 10000 kills which makes it impossible to get positive, they also keep your loses.
You don't get to keep your tokens and you don't get to keep your challenges or titles and emblems.
The ways to reduce being bans try to appear off line so activision doesn't see your account active. Also turn game recording off.
