Synopsis
there's survivors scattered in civilized ruins, time is running out for delta squadd in the conclusion to on of the most enjoyed sagas in video games, New to Gears of War 3 is the ability to tag enemy opponents; computer-controller allies will then concentrate fire on these marked enemies, while human allies will be alerted to their location on their HUD. Players can now also swap weapons and ammunition (and money during Horde Mode) with other allies in the course of battle.

GamePlay

When in combat, the player can take some damage from enemy fire, filling a blood-colored "crimson omen" on the HUD as a measure of the player's health, unlike the traditional health bar in other shooters. By staying out of the line of fire, this will dissipate, but by taking too much damage, the player will become downed or killed, and must be brought to their feet by an ally within a short "bleed-out" period, or else the player will die, unless playing the game on Insane difficultly level in which case a player will die immediately after taking too much damage without the bleed-out. The player can also be killed during the bleed-out by the use of the game's signature execution moves by the enemy. Some types of damage, such as explosives or head shots, can kill the player immediately without the bleed-out period. Similarly, the player can also cause enemies to fall into bleed-out in the same manner. The player and their allies and enemies can use nearly any structure as cover, firing blind from behind it or leaning out to take aimed shots while usually exposing their head more. Players can quickly switch between nearby covering walls or jump over lower cover to rush forward. Within Gears of War 3, some cover can be destroyed after taking some amount of damage, which can be used to a tactical advantage to draw out enemies from cover.

Game - Borderlands: Underdome

Platform: Xbox 360, Windows PC, PS3
Release Date: 29/12/09
Rating: 18+
Price: 800msp(XB360), 6.29(PS3), PC(15,00)

Synopsis:

This expansion is very different than all the other expansions and is very fun to play. This expansion adds a different level of difficulty every wave. You can also think of this pack of horde from Gears of War or Firefight from Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach. When starting up the expansion you shown with a area that can give you a lot of help. In a area there is a Health Vendor, Ammo Vendor and a Weapon Vendor. There is also a bank upstairs run by a claptrap in a tuxedo and you buy capacity space to store your weapons, shields, health vials etc. You can go exploring around the starting area find portraits, funny looking claptraps and even bandits in barrels!

Gameplay:

When you finally go into the fight either flying solo or kicking ass with 2-4 friends, the waves start relatively easy but as you progress the waves become rather evil (if you're a low level that is) and annoying but after all that trouble you are finally presented with a boss battle that comes from the single player game that can either be simple from King Wee Wee straight up to what I have been told The Destroyer. But once you pull through you will be rewarded with either Atlas, Dahl, Hyperion, Jakobs, Maliwan, S&S Munitions, Torgue, Vladof and even sometimes Eridian. You can also get either brand of shield. (Anshin or Pangalin).

Graphics:

The graphics for the DLC pretty much don't change they stay the same for the normal Borderlands game.

Ratings:

I give this DLC 8 out of 10 stars because I think even though I personally think this DLC is good I think that it could do with some minor improvements and overlooking.

Game Information
Release Date: September 12, 2006
Developers: Relic Entertainment
Publishers: THQ
Genre: Real-time strategy
Platform: PC
Rating: M, 15+

Synopsis
Company of Heroes is a visually stunning real-time strategy game that depicts all the violent chaos of World War II with uncommon intensity. Set during the invasion of Normandy toward the end of the war, Company of Heroes takes its cues from Saving Private Ryan, by portraying both the sheer brutality of the war as well as the humanity of its combatants. Many other recent WWII games have also drawn influence from Steven Spielberg's landmark film, but Company of Heroes is even more graphic. This and the game's highly authentic-looking presentation are its distinguishing features, and it boasts some frantic, well-designed strategic and tactical combat to match. Company of Heroes trades a wide breadth of content for an extremely detailed look at WWII-era ground combat, and its action is so fast paced that it's best suited for the reflexes of an experienced RTS player.

Gameplay
Gameplay on Company of heroes is just amazing, featuring 10 different campaigns to play, boredom never occurs. These campaigns are completely action packed and are fairly lengthy. Playing through all these campaigns, it was such a fun experience commanding army's of soldiers to lead the war of destruction.

Gameplay rating: 9/10

Graphics
The graphics of this game are absolutely astonishing for the release of 2006. If model detail & graphics turned to Ultra, it is crazy.

[ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

The game has a zoom in feature by using the Mouse scroll, giving you the ability to see the action right up close if you do not prefer the birds eye view.
It features destructible environments, feel like a bad @ss running over cars and knocking trees over with the heavily armored tanks. Explosions and sounds are incredibly realistic, I just can't get enough of it.

Graphics rating: 10/10

Multiplayer
The Multiplayer in Company of Heroes is what rises it up even further. Play with up to 4 players on a team to destroy your enemies, capture strategic points around the map to gain extra resources (Manpower, Munitions, and Fuel) for you and your teammates. Create defenses such as sand bags, barb wire, tank traps, Bunkers/MG Emplacements, and mines to stop your enemy from passing through your territory. Choose which team you want to be on, Allies featuring Americans and British. Or the Axis which features Wehrmacht and Panzer Elite. Each army gives completely different looks, capabilities and units.
Select what environment to play in, them being rain, heavy Rain, dusk, dawn, hazy, very Hazy, and sunny. With up to eight different gamemodes, the fun never stops!
Don't think this is enough? The game supports modding! Add new maps, environments, gamemodes, and even new units to your games for that extra fun.

Multiplayer rating: 10/10

Controls
The controls can sometimes be tricky if you are planning to use hotkeys, this is only recommended for Professional matches.
Otherwise if you are planning to play normally, the arrow keys are used to move your camera around, and simply left click on buildings, units, upgrades, and special abilities.
Right clicking is only used to move your selected units to the area you have clicked.
Simple as that.

Some hotkeys are:
A - Attack
G - Attack Ground
H - Halt
Y - Rally
R - Reinforce
E - Repair
T - Retreat
U - Unload

Overall
Overall, I think Company of heroes is such a well developed game, with thousands of people still playing it today, stunning graphics, and fun gameplay.
Why not join?

My overall rating: 9.5/10

Developers: treyarc

Publishers: activision

Platforms: nitendo ds, xbox 360, ps3, wii, ps2

Genre: don't know

Players:Online there are a lot of hackers on there but if it was pure playing without hacking this game would be great i think. the online has so much to do and most of you have played cod but there are actually better guns on here witch i think should replace some on black ops and cod 8

Rating: 7/10 multiplayer(without hackers), campaign 8/10, overall without hacking 8/10, overall with hacking 3/10 (i play multiplayer the most)

Fact:this is set on a major war WW2

Graphics:at the time these were very good graghics 2008 when it came out but know not so much campaign the are a few glitches and bushes out of place and stuff, i thinkthe grsphics are like black ops witch are getting to realalistic and should be like cod6 medium 5/10 know when it came out 7/10

Controls:Most of you have proberly played call of duty know at some point like all normal cod controls and you get 4 choices witch i like alltough i just use normal you do have a choice my thumb gets sore when playing all cods because i need to strech it up sometimes but is better than getting squashed with ps3, easy to get used to and pick up

synopsis:During the single-player campaign, the player controls three different characters from a first-person perspective. The player first assumes the role of Private C. Miller of the United States Marine Corps' 1st Division in the Pacific campaign. He is captured by the Japanese, but is rescued by Corporal Roebuck (voiced by Kiefer Sutherland) and his men from the Marine Raiders squad, during the Makin Island raid. Other notable non-playable characters of the Marine Raiders unit include Sergeant Tom Sullivan (voiced by Chris Fries) and Private Polonsky (voiced by Aaron Stanford). Sullivan dies during the campaign and either Roebuck or Polonsky die depending on the player's actions.[18] Private Dimitri Petrenko, the second playable character, fights on the Eastern Front with Sergeant Viktor Reznov (voiced by Gary Oldman). Reznov appeared again in Call of Duty: Black Ops with Dimitri Petrenko, who later dies in a Nova 6 chamber. A war hero of sorts, Petrenko is responsible for the assassination of General Heinrich Amsel (a fictional character, responsible for massacres all over the Soviet Union according to Reznov), as well as eventually putting the Red Army banner over the Reichstag at the Battle of Berlin , despite being shot by a German, who Viktor Reznov brutally slaughters with a machete. Three years later, they are joined by a third character, Private Chernov, Reznov's subordinate, who serves as a voice of reason throughout the campaign and regularly voices shock and disapproval at the brutal slaughter he regularly witnesses. Chernov is severely burned by a German flamethrower in the campaign mission "Heart of The Reich." It is unknown whether or not he survives. They are all soldiers in the 3rd Shock Army under the command of Commissar Markhov.[18] The third playable character in the campaign is Petty Officer Locke, a weapons operator on a PBY Catalina flying boat, who is only playable in the mission "Black Cats" during a solo campaign.[18]

Viva Pinata

Viva pinata is a fantastic game for all ages, anyone can get involved within the pinata universe from small children to maybe even more of the older less experienced players.

When i first got the game it was basically just for fun as it was a cheap low priced game and as each hour passed and my garden got bigger the thoughts of the senseless violence from games such as call of duty was vanquished and my game experience opened up to more creative setting.

No longer was it just about violence such as gaining kill streaks (MW3) or shooting up hookers (GTA IV) i coud finally get to grips and play an un stressful game.

The game itself wasn't all fun and dandy there were crucial moments were i had to decide on the fates of my pinatas as davros (death) came to destroy my pinatas as they were ill. There were also many other characters within the game such as seedos the plant expert who like to give you seeds to help your garden grow to its fullest potential.

Overall i would the game a 7 out of 10 due to the fact that it is a fun and exciting game however it can become rather addictive at times and stressful when the odd pinata wont come into your garden.

Story
There is not much of a story to go with in this game. Much of the game is repetitive grinding ( Leveling up) and doing quests. The little story this game provides is that you are on the planet Pandora and are trying to find the Vault. And that a Mystical Lady comes and trys to guide you there. None of the characters have there own story. The DLC's have little story but at least they have some

Story Rating: 3/10

Quests and weapons
The weapons are one big part of the game. There ARE SO MANY. Most of them are just the same weapons with some upgrades and a new name but just are very cool to play with. I like the fact that Gear Box Put in so much detail into it. There are Fire, Electric, Corrosive, And Explosive weapons. Some can be Machine guns, Rockets, Pistols, And shotguns ( Alien weapons are cool to). But there is a flip side to this. The quests.
The quests are fun some times but when you do the same quest such as find a certain amount of this item or etc you will get board.

Quest and Weapons rating: 8/10

DLC's

They are just outstanding. For a RPG to have some nice DLC's is sweet. The zombie DLC's made me shout ""Awesome" Because It was really original. The Underdome Riot was in my opinion HORRIBLE because you get no XP for kills and it takes forever to complete an arena Challenge.
The Secret Armory was good because first it incresed your level cap and second because you get ALOT of guns at the end. Claptrap Revolution was cool cause youu get to shoot robots. Overall the DLC's were good.

DLC Rating: 7/10

My overall rating of this game is a 6/10 because some elements where really good such as coop, Guns, DLC's and the RPG elements. But what brought this game down was the Lack of Time put into making quests, the Grinding, and the enemies.

Overall Rating: 6/10

Ward it seemed as if cracks were finally starting to show. But if there were any theyve been plastered over with consummate skill and this is, for better and for worst, exactly what you'd expect from a sequel to Modern Warfare 2.
We do feel some sympathy for Infinity Ward, and co-developers Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software. Not only has the series' success made Call Of Duty a target of hate amongst more elitist gamers, but if Modern Warfare 3 is anything less than the fastest-selling video game of all time (a position held by both Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2) then it will be immediately proclaimed as the beginning of the end for the franchise, Activision and first person shooters in general.

None of that is our concern though, our job is merely to critique the game and with only a few caveats it's probably the best in the series so far.

Although it's the online multiplayer which gives the games their longevity, Call Of Duty would still never be the success it is if it didn't also get the single-player right. As we mentioned in our Battlefield 3 review, on the face of it Modern Warfare 3's campaign mode seems to be a grab bag of some of the very worst design conceits in gaming: linear progression, clockwork set pieces, and extremely limited artificial intelligence.
But these aren't automatically negatives, not if you use them right. And with Modern Warfare 3 Infinity Ward once again prove themselves to be the masters of the cinematic set piece. There's a level set in Somalia which sees a giant dust storm encroach over the course of the mission and ends with you not being able to see more than two feet in front of you by the end. The gradual escalation of both the storm and the scale of the battle is a masterclass in design and an expert use of virtual smoke and mirrors.

There are several other standout levels, including a clever variation on Mile High Club and a series of tense stealth-based levels in a rain-soaked Prague. The plot is still the usual sub-Tom Clancy nonsense but it's slightly less distasteful than usual and although the game warns you that some scenes may be disturbing (it even offers to edit these out for you in advance) there's nothing as gratuitously headline-grabbing as the No Russian airport massacre scene.

Interestingly there's also less obvious stealing from movies, with very few sequences that are direct recreations (the closest is probably from Team America of, all things). There are only two disappointing levels out of 17, which is probably the best batting average yet, but the odd thing is those two are the very last ones. They're not flat out awful or anything, but the final mission in particular is a very odd way to end a three-game story arc and falls disappointingly flat.

The other problem with the story mode is that a lot of individual elements are becoming overfamiliar. Peering down at the game world through the low resolution cameras of an AC-130 Gunship or raining down Predator missiles on unsuspecting enemies no longer has the shock of the new on its side. The Gunship levels in particular are used in some new and interesting ways though and there are plenty of new toys: including a giant remote-control car with a minigun on top and the chance to direct A-10 tank busters.

It is the multiplayer though that has seen the most substantial changes this time round, the most significant since Call Of Duty 4. However, since almost all of it is directed towards being more accessible to less skilled players your own abilities will dictate how significant they seem to you. Killstreaks are no more and instead you have Pointstreaks, this means you also receive rewards for completing objectives and assisting with attacks, rather than solely for making a kill.

This is instantly more rewarding for players with two left trigger fingers and means that more skilled players can concentrate on what they do best and others can make themselves busy capturing control points, ordering in missile strikes and the like. On top of this you can choose one of three 'strike packages', which determine which rewards you get for Pointstreaks.

The Assault package works like the older games and resets the Pointstreak whenever you die, but also gives access to the most explosive rewards such as assault drones and helicopter gunships. Support (which is what we used the most) doesn't reset when you die but focuses more on things like SAM launchers and recon drones. The third strike package is Specialist, which gives you extra perks the higher your Pointstreak goes.

Death Streaks (minor rewards for being killed multiple times in a row) also return and there are plenty of new perks - we found Stalker, which lets you move faster when aiming, and Assassin, which makes you undetectable by any electronics system, particularly useful.

The basic system of upgrading your character is the same as always, with the game desperate to reward you with new weapon unlocks, perks, and proficiencies for just about anything you do. Not only can you upgrade your character though but weapons can also now be levelled up, opening up new attachments and improvements the more you use specific models.

The 16 new multiplayer modes all seem well designed, although only several months of continuous play will reveal the winners and losers. At the moment though our favourites are the smaller Resistance and Dome maps, although that's probably only because they're easier to learn at first.

Beyond the usual Deathmatch, Domination and other regular modes the two new ones for Modern Warfare 3 are Kill Confirmed and Team Defender. The former is particularly good and another that allows both highly skilled and less experienced players to compete in the same match, since you only get full points for a kill if you collect an enemy's' dog tags. Kills from your own side can also be denied by collecting your team-mates'.

Team Defender also seeks to encourage team play by making the rest of your team try and protect whoever's holding a flag. Other more specialist game modes are available in private matches, including Black Ops favourites such as Gun Game and One in the Chamber. Private matches also allow you to customise any mode, down to very specific details about which guns you can use and how they work.

How useful Call Of Duty Elite will prove is also something only time will tell, but at the moment at least it seems less intrusive and aggravating than its rival Battlelog. Although youve still got to have a fairly committed interest in stats to find any of it particularly useful.

Where other games specialise in just one style or another both the single-player and multiplayer in Modern Warfare 3 works exactly as intended. Co-operative play is by now almost a third pillar and although you can't play the campaign mode with anyone else there is the new Survival mode. Unlike its rivals it doesn't have any zombies or alien monsters but still proves extremely addictive, and the difficultly curve as you fight increasingly more powerful waves of enemies is judged just right.

There are also 16 new mission modes that let you play campaign-inspired two-player missions. We liked the asynchronous ones best, such as the one where one person gets to help a comrade on the ground via a Gunship or another where you take control of a remote control sentry gun as your team-mate rushes through on foot.

So will any of this silence the game's critics? We very much doubt it, despite the changes it's still fundamentally the same game underneath and clearly that's never going to change. But it does underline how pointless direct comparisons to other games are. Despite being in the same genre the multiplayer plays nothing like Battlefield 3 - or Halo or Gears Of War come to that. It's not a case of one of the games being better, but of which variation on a theme you prefer.

You only have to think back a few years to when the most successful video games were badly-made, lowest common dominator rubbish. Call Of Duty isn't exactly avant-garde gaming but everything it seeks to do it does extremely well.

Much like this year's Gears Of War 3 there is a feeling that the series has reached a logical conclusion though, and not just in terms of its storyline. Whatever comes after this will need to offer revolution not refinement, but for now the call of Modern Warfare sounds as strong as ever.

In Short: As substantial as they are the changes won't silence committed critics, but for accessible, content-rich action this is still the best first person shooter of the year.

Pros: Some of the best campaign set pieces in the series. Survival mode and co-op in general is great. Multiplayer changes are well considered and the new game modes work well.

Cons: The last two campaign levels are weak. The impact of Pointstreaks and strike packages will depend entirely on your own skill level.
