true, you can look at it both ways. Mathematics, technically have always been around! Human beings just invented a way to simplify problems, whatever the problems early humans were facing. a discovery does not have to be something that was already here and you "discovered" it. Its just basically finding something or finding something out. Math is simply both, it's always been here, we just invented a way to use it. 1 + 1 = 2, if you take out the plus and the equals you still have 2 of something. And if you times that two by ten you have 20 of something. We invented a way to make our discovery faster and easier!!

I completely agree!!! That was an awesome way to put it and that makes a lot of sense well done bud!

What is with all these people saying a single person created math? it's not like someone just woke up one day and went "herp I created math!!!111", the base ideas of math would have always existed, for example cavemen knowing that 1 deer carcass + 2 deer carcass' = 3 deer carcass', but the formulas and rules that make math are always being created and updated.

Anyway math is hard to define, is simply knowing by common sense that if you have 2 apples and eat one you have one left maths? where does it cross the line from common sense into mathematics?
