1) If available, read the Road Map.

o Majority of the time, this will tell you how long it would take to unlock the full 1000G. It will also tell you if any achievements are glitched or not obtainable. That could save your **** from being reset.

2) Check to see whether it is available in your region or not.

Pretty stupid, but it will help. If you unlocking achievements for games that aren't available in your region, then the XBL PET will become really suspicious of your GS acquiring. Yes, a lot of people have NTSC and PAL consoles, but since Microsoft keep their findings under wraps, it would be hard to determine how they could catch you.
3) Don't unlock too many at one time.

Personally, I unlock 250-500 Gamerscore a day. There have been a few occasions where I unlocked 1000G, but these games were offline + under 5 hours.
Set yourself a limit as to how much you should unlock. If you are adding timestamps, you still aren't safe. On average, if you are logged into LIVE 2-3 hours a day, but your timestamp shows that you have unlocked (insert GS number here) in a 12 hour gaming session, again, pretty stupid to think it, but it could raise an alarm.
4) Pre-release unlocking

You got your hands on Madden 11 (using this as an example, as it's already leaked online). What do you do? Unlock the achievements and then connect to LIVE, allowing ANY Xbox staff member to see your "achievement". More than likely, they will investigate until s*** hits the fan. Not worth losing access to your profile over 1000G a few days before someone else.
The game could have glitched achievements. Be careful.
I suppose the already mentioned 3 points apply to this as well.
5) Offline/Online (Timestamps)

Best thing to do is to find legitimate profiles via MyGamerCard and unlock according to them.
If unlocking offline, obviously, times don't matter, but the order does.
If unlocking online, you could copy the exact time as the legitimate profile, or use something similar. Showing 10 achievements unlocked at 1:53am is really stupid.
Last, but not least, it's common sense. Don't expect these 5 points to get you out of trouble. You could still get reset. All it takes is one simple mistake and POOF! Your Gamerscore is back to 0, you are labelled a cheater and you can't unlock those achievements again (unless there is a way around it. I am not sure, as I am not that into modding).

I have done this to hopefully help those newbs who don't think before they act. Every detail should be looked over twice. You can never be too safe, especially when it comes to cheating the system.

STEP 1 ;; Calling Microsoft
Call Microsoft, and choose to be redirected to the Xbox section. Wait until a support staff member picks-up your call.

STEP 2 ;; What To Say
Now that you're talking to the support member you need to tell him/her what's wrong. You are going to say that your left/right stick on your controller is loose and that it doesn't let you play correctly.
After a while they will ask you for the serial number of your Xbox 360 console - give it to them. If you haven't 'linked' the console with yourself, they will do that while you're talking. This means they will take your full name, address, phone and so on - but it's not an issue.
After that, they will most probably say "Ok, we will send you a new controller to your address. We apologize for what has happened and we want to make it up to you" or something similar. This is very good news :].

Go Say Xbox Live or hit 2 then after that say agent they may switch you around to a couple of representatives but its worth it if you want your points back and keep what ever you bought..

So once you get the agent on the line you will say that you bought whatever game you bought and when you tried to buy it... It gave you an error called "An Purchasing Error Occurred" .

Make sure you say that and tell them it took you Microsoft points and it didnt even download the game or give you the item.

They will tell you probaly to look in your download history and see if its there tell them yes and then they will ask you to hit A on it and see if u can download it again tell them its asking for you to buy it again..or/ and they might tell you to go to the marketplace where you bought the game from and see if you can download it again and tell them its telling you to re-buy the game all over again for the same amount that you recently bought it for

They will ask for some info to make sure your the owner of the account ***GIVE THEM THE RIGHT INFO*** they might make you do some trouble shooting stuff but just don't tell them that you can download it again and make sure you say it took your microsft points and didnt give you the item

Just be smart so after you do all the BS they want you to do they will say they are going to credit you the microsft points back which means they will give be giving you a refund after they do that and confirm that you got the points back your done tell them to have a nice day

and there you go just go to the marketplace and hit download again it will not make you buy it cause you bought it already and you also have your Microsoft points back so Good Luck.

Better instructions:
Go to the redeem code on your Xbox, type in the code, wait for the screensaver to come up, go to your computer, redeem the code there, then redeem on your Xbox.

Regular Instructions:
1. Go on your Xbox and sign-in to your account. Hit the god button (big X in middle of controller) and scroll left to redeem code. Type in the code and just wait.

2. Go to your computer and sign-in your profile on the Xbox website. Click "Add Points" next to your gamertag. Click the 'Redeem Code' option. Type the code in and wait.

3. Disconnect your controller by unplugging the battery pack, redeem the code on your computer and reconnect your controller and redeem the code extremely quickly.

4. On your computer/Xbox you may get an error message. That means you did it right. Enjoy your Double Microsoft Points.

If you are planning on buying a movie, TV show, or something that you download, this will be a good thing to do

1. You want to recover the persons gamertag whos buying you the game on your xbox.
2. Then you want to download the game you want.
You can play it because it was the first xbox to be downloaded on which lets everyone on your xbox play it.
3.After the download, your friend will have to recover his gamertag.
4. After the recovery, your friend will have to download the game by going to Account Management and then Download History.
Your friend can play the game too because he is the owner but since it was downloaded on your xbox, its the original xbox.
5. You can now delete your friends profile from your xbox. Remember to chose delete profile only because then you will lose the game.
6.YOUR DONE!!

Okay first your gonna need someone with an actual paid subscription to netflix.

Then your gonna need to download netflix from the dashboard. (if you haven't already)
