If you want to go for magic then high elf or Breton. If you would prefer melee combat I would suggest Orc or Nord as they all have extra stats in either magic or heavy armor etc..

I want dark elf as my favorite game is morrowind. But...between you and me i know play as a dremora aka the people who make and are referenced sometimes to as daedric.
