I think EA's online pass is pretty unnecessary. Like why not just allow people to get online without activating anything? Because what if someone buys the game used? Then they have to buy the pass for like 800(?) MP just so they can play online. Kind of stupid if you ask me. Definitely think they could just do without it. And yeah yeah you could sit there and be like why is it that big of a deal to you, it's just 800 MP.
Well think of it this way:
800 MP = $10. So imagine for every EA game you bought, it was $70 instead of $60. It would add up.
I just think it's unfair that some people can play online for free, while the others that buy the game used have to pay $10. Kind of ridiculous.

Your right about it being unnecessary, but if you worked for the company, you would want to make as much money as you could.

1. If you buy the game used, your getting it discounted which saves you money to buy the pass.
2. The full non used game comes with the pass, so your not paying an extra $10.
3. They did this to save space on their server so people would not waste space on them.

Companies cannot make money off of used games, and also if someone gets a pirated copy they are still making money from that. So it was actually a good idea.

1. If you're buying the game used you obviously didn't have enough money, because if you did you would've bought it new in the first place.
2. I said the people buying the game USED are paying $10. I wasn't just trying to say, they should just make it $10 for everyone if they're going to be THAT greedy.
3. It's still unnecessary. Get better servers. They're EA for Christ sakes.
