McNuggets wrote seems like a problem with the motor but could be the board.
if you got another drive thats identical (make/model) you can then take the board from the old one and put it in the replacment and it will work.
well if the board is messed up it wont fix the issue.

What do you mean another drive, like, another similar disk dive for my Xbox?

yes, if they are identical take the board for your current disc drive out and put it into the other one and it will work.

i did that when my drive stopped reading games.
if it still has problems your board is broken and you will need to extact the DVDkey off the board and flash it to a working replacment.
depending on the make of the drive you might have to solder a few wires back on
Lord, so I have to remove the motherboard from this broken one to my other one? Is that what you mean by board? I'm a little lost..

yeah the motherboard thats inside the dvd drive.
from the picture it looks like a liteon drive. if it is there will be 6 wires you will need to solder

One's a liteon the other is a BenQ.. this is gonna be a problem isn't it?

yeah those cant be swapped.
You will either have to attempt a fix or buy another liteon drive(they dont cost thatmuch)and then swap the old motherboard with the one in the new drive.
make sure the board is not the issue before you buy a new one tho or you will have the same problem
