small claims court is cheap and easy, just tell him he had no right to take what did not belong to him or break it and he owes you however much the xbox cost to get a new one since you paid for it.

dad or no dad it is still a class of 'stealing' and you can take him to a small claims court over it

I studied some law so I know what im talking about
