So, as usual, the PC version has its share of obnoxious issues. Here are some things that you can do to fix them.

Tweaks

Whenever I mention the SkyrimPrefs.ini file, I'm talking about a file found in "\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\".

Mouse Lag/Acceleration
1. In SkyrimPrefs.ini, go to [Controls] and add "bMouseAcceleration=0" (or change it if it's set to 1).
2. Disable the Xbox 360 Controller (in-game) from Settings -> Gameplay. Even if you don't have one plugged in, it can cause lag.
3. Disable VSync (see below).

Disable VSync
1. In SkyrimPrefs.ini, go to [Display] and add "iPresentInterval=0" (or change it if it's set to 1).
2. Check your NVIDIA/AMD drivers to ensure that VSync is turned off for Skyrim.

Unresponsive Menu
1. Disable the Xbox 360 Controller (in-game) from Settings -> Gameplay.
2. Make sure that you have the latest updates for Skyrim. The 1.1 patch fixed several UI issues.

General Performance Improvements
1. Using FXAA (click "Advanced" on the Launcher's display settings) will provide better performance than the default Antialiasing, but at the cost of being a bit blurry. This does not use your "Sample" option for normal Antialiasing, so turn that off if you plan to only use FXAA.
2. NVIDIA has some beta drivers (285.79) that have been reported to improve performance in Skyrim a bit. You can find them [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] .
3. There's a modified DirectX dll that might help performance. You can find it [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] . If that doesn't help, there's also an early version of ENBSeries for Skyrim (found [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] ) that might improve performance and fixes some graphical issues.

Tips

Hotkeys
In addition to your "Favorites" list, you can also assign weapons/armor/magic to the 1-8 keys. Just press one of the number keys when you have your desired item selected in the "Favorites" list.

Pick Up Objects
Unlike previous Bethesda titles, the Z key doesn't pick up things. This time, you have to hold the "use" key ('E' by default).

Easily Change Race
If you'd like to change your appearance, press the tilde key (~/`), type "ShowRaceMenu", hit Enter, then press the tilde key again. This does reset your stats, so this is like making a new character (but keeping your quest progress).
