Seen a few posts about it and people asking what on earth it, to begin I'm not sure if American's celebrate it the way we Brits do, so if you have no idea what Bonfire night here is a little explanation.
Guy Fawkes (yes the same guy as the masks from the Devil wears Prada and the same one anonymous use) basically tried to blow up the houses of parliament in London in the year 1605. He and his accomplices intentions were to kill King James I, unfortunately for them they were found out on the intended night of the attack (November 5th). In celebration of the fact the king was not killed the people of London lit bonfires all around the city. It is a tradition that has since been kept but most people just do it for the fireworks now rather than in celebration that a king who died hundreds of years ago never died.
Like OriginalGamertag said Guy Fawkes had a friend of his due to be in the House of Lords
on the 5th of November and so not wanting to be responsible for his friends death he wrote a letter to him telling nothing more than to not go to the house of parliament that day. His friend was suspicious and so alerted a guard of his suspicions, which led to the capturing of Guy Fawkes who was then hung, had his organs cut out, stuck in the 4 corners of England(known as being hung, drawn and quartered)
Bonfire nights are celebrate right across the commonwealth but this is the most renowned and the one Brits are going to be talking about for the next week or so.

Yeah Halloween is big over here too, but it began for Britain hundreds of years ago as the celebration of the eve of the pagan Celtic festival known as Samhain, in which the world of the dead and our world were at their closest. But now we just do the same thing as America anyway
