Steven Hawking's has discussed your theory before, and gave a reason why it is wrong. If you were to travel 1 mp/h less than the speed of light, on a "train" and you were to get up from your seat, time it's self would slow down.

Even though scientists at the LHC thought that something traveled faster than the speed of light (the neutrino previously mentioned) they think they did something wrong with there results. It was an anomaly.

So, to conclude, you cannot travel faster than the speed of light, only extremely closed to it. 8)

So if time goes slower we could make it so slow we could live forever?

no time doesnt go slower he is wrong we will just see things in the past slightly. everything we see now is in the past because it takes time for light to reach our eyes if we went near light speed the time delay would be bigger.

Time would slow down for you, making you age less than everybody else. So yes, time would slow down.

no time has nothing to do with light, time isnt an object you can slow down or speed up you wouldnt age slower you would age at the same speed it would just seem that you would age slower because you are going so fast.

Right, if you had any idea about physics then you would understand by now that light = time.

If I traveled at 30mp/h and you traveled at 20mp/h I would age slower (even though it's a small effect) that you would.

This has been proven, that the faster you go, the slower time passes for you. This has been scientifically proven multiple times by the worlds top scientists, and no one disagrees, because you can't disagree with a fact.

Try argue with me, but you really have no idea what you're talking about.

I guess they say that once u travel at the speed of light than time goes by faster what I don't get is how you go back in time when it already happened.

I can travel faster than light.

I walk in and out of different time zones. :trollin:

For a start a spaceship couldn't travel to the speed of light... as it can't be massless or have infinite mass.
So the question is kind of invalid.

And you said if that's even more worse... like saying:
"can you run at the speed of light?"
"no."
"but what if you could?"
"well then you would be able to..."
and you would also be moving relative to it if so you wouldn't be moving anywhere so fast.

time goes slower for the person inside the spaceship going near the speed of light... the faster you go the slower time gets inside the craft that is going at the speed of light. It is also affected by gravity. This is time dilation. So you got to he future not back... but if you could go faster then you would go backwards.

I don't really think there is any way to travel faster or at the speed of light. I do think you may be able to travel by a "worm hole".

@ The person under me, i was joking. Also the time delay would be smaller not bigger, The slower we are the greater the difference.

time doesn't go slower for you, you would age normally but when you get out the craft it would be a long time in the future.

btw the neutrons might just have a tachyonic nature so they wouldn't violate the laws, but it is still a theory of tachyons.

Theoretically this would be possible. In reality it is not. In reality, the faster an object goes and the more mass it has, the more pressure is put on the object, pushing it to the point where if it were a living creature, even bacteria, it would be crushed by the pressure.
