snowz4life wrote I am currently an atheist. why does the pledge of allegiance still have "under god"? what ever happened between separation between church and state. i want to do something about this because it is another example of religion pushed on children. What should i do?

i feel religion forces people to not think considering they already have an answer. think outside our planet and our own conscience. people should question reality itself and outside our own planet instead of wasting their life on conforming to things such as fads.

in all reality, you don't have to say the pledge at all, if your teacher is making you, then they are violating your civil rights in accordance with the constitution.

snowz4life wrote most of these replies have been based on: conservative thought; arrogance; historically incorrect statements. This post proves people cant think for themselves and must conform lolll

Hmmm. You really don't have much room to talk considering you put a semicolon where a comma should go. I wouldn't point it out if you weren't calling people arrogant. And you've been given plenty of advice such as not saying the pledge or not saying the part about God.

Also, if you really want to make a stand against anything that has religious ties, stop using money because it says "In God we trust".

P.S. If it weren't for religion, many things would not have happened (possibly the discovery of America).
