Greetings friend,
That is a decent laptop, but you will be unable to do much gaming-wise with it. You should instead use [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] post as a basic outline on what you should purchase to build your own PC. With that $250 you save, you can either get a new monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc. or you can purchase a cheap refurbed laptop for portable use.
Best of luck,
Zim

Go for a custom gaming rig if you wanna be gaming.

Never go for a mac, or a laptop (unless its alienware)

There are other solutions than going with alienware. Overpriced.

Well that makes it much harder... I believe [ Register or Signin to view external links. ] nests quite nicely within your price range, plus it is far better than the one you have there. My personal pick that I've found.
Best of luck,

Sony Vaio's are amazing.

Unless you wanna spend $1,000... In that case you can get alien ware.
