**JUST ADDED WILDFIRE DOWNGRADE TUTORIAL LINK**

supremescare's list of essential apps for root users!!!

All of the apps require S-OFF and root access!!

** ALL CREDIT GOES TO ME, THIS THREAD IS ENTIRELEY MY WORK, PLEASE THANK TOPIC **

Rooting your android phone is one of the best things that you can do. It allows you to access and do many things that your phone couldnt do before.

If anyone needs any help with rooting a phone, or downgrading you software and/ HBOOT to root, PM me.

Some of the apps listed below are free, so are paid. Please support the developers and buy the apps as many of them have spent lots of time in developing the apps, thanks

SuperUser
Superuser is the most essential app for a rooted phone. This app will come pre-installed after many roots, but just incase it isnt, install it. it can be downloaded directly from the market place. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

Titanium Backup
If you are like me, and flash a custom ROM quite often, you will know that it is a pain to install all of your apps, and you will loose all of the data for them. Titanium backup allows you to backup all of your settings, and then once a custom ROM is flashed, it allows you to gain all of them back aswell. An essential bit of kit in my opinion. Set CPU
Set CPU is another essential app in my opinion. It allows you to overclock the speed of your phones processor. For example, my HTC wildfire was a low end phone, and ran on a 320 mHz setting. But, on set CPU, i have allowed the phone to speed up the processor to 710 mHz, over 100x faster!!! Also, lots of other setting can be configured, e.g. when the battery reaches 20%, the phone runs on 128 mHz to conserve battery. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

ShootMe
Every android user will know that unfortunatley, the android OS has no inbuilt screenshot software. ShootMe allows you to take a screenshot of the phone by simply shaking the phone (only when app is active) This is a very useful app in my opinion because you can take a screen shot of a photo you find on the internet and upload it to you facebook profile for example. Adfree
This is a great app for people who often use free versions of apps. The developers often incorporate adds in annoying places with these apps. Adfree blocks the specific IP's of the add websites. It does it for every app on the phone, meaning all apps will be add fre (all of the ad site ip's are updated daily for the application developers server. (sorry, i couldnt find an image for this one!)

SSH Tunnel
This is a good app for protecting sensitive information from bein released, and siezed by hackers. For example, when you have no 3G and just have to use the wifi signal from a shop, it encrypts all of the data and passwords, allowing you to browse safley and securley.

Tasker
This is an app which can automate your phone. For example, if you are in school, and need your mobile on silent, tasker will automatically do that. You could set an event to always have your phone on silent between 8:50 am and 3:35 pm for example. This is a great app for those of you who are forgetful!! Wireless Tether
Some custom ROMS do not come with the WiFi tethering option. Wireless tether allows you to tether you phone, so it could be used by an iPod for example. It also shows useful statistics, like the WiFi tether ports upload and download speeds.

Juice Defender: Ultimate Juice
THIS IS NOT A TASK KILLING APP, THEY ARE GENERALLY NOT TOO GOOD! Juice defender ultimate comes with a few ectra features for root users, but it is a very good app for saving/conserving battery life. It also has profiles, which mean when the screen is on, background data syncing will occur, but when the screen is of, it will only happen every 15 minutes, which drastically increases battery life time.

Quick Boot
This is one of the most simple apps, but one of the most useful. It simply allows the user, at the click of a button, to boot into bootloader, recovery mode or just reboot the phone. A simple but effective app

Theft Aware
This is quite a complex app, but basically it is an app to help you recover your app if it is lost or stolen. It allows you to tracj the phone, wipe it, call it, and basically spy on the theif - without him even knowing. A very useful app if you ask me.

thanks for the TTG user vokal for reccomending this one
Busybox
Busybox for the Android platform is a set of Unix tools / commands that has been compiled for use on your phone. These are not usually full-featured versions of the Unix commands found on the larger platforms counterparts, but they are pretty close and useful nonetheless.

Soft links to the various commands are also sometimes created in /system/bin or /system/xbin by the root tool used to install the busybox.

HTC wildfire (HTC Buzz) downgrade tutorial. This is for rooting a HTC that is currently on Hboot 1.01.0002: (will wipe all phone data as memory card is wiped!!!) [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]

I spent a long tim witing this thread. It is all my own work, i found out about these apps, and wrote my opinion from experience about them.

Please Thank the topic, and +rep if i helped you.

I will be adding more in the futures. If you feel there is any to add, PM me of comment here, thanks
