I have recently made a lag switch and 5 seconds after i disable it, it takes 5 seconds before it disconnects from xbox live. is there any way to increase the lagging time. if i had a longer ethernet cable and i disable the lag switch to start lagging, will that increase the lagging time.

It depends on how good or bad your connection is you have a better connection it will last about 20 seconds max maybe 30 seconds but if you have a bad connection in the first place it is a shorter time like 5 to 10 seconds

Also maybe you cut the wrong wire and thought it was the right one or accidentally slit another wire.

Last depending on the switch you use it could not have a stab;e connection and disconnect you right away.
