Aha.

Wow, where to start. AMD really messed up this time. A fast 8 core CPU that can't be maxed out. Loses to a lower wattage 2500k in gaming and single threaded applications. I knew it probably be bad, but this, really? This is a bad thing since Sandy Bridge is on top, and is going to be for a while..so that = less competition between the two = less production. I sort of feel sorry for the people who bought AM3+ just to put their 8150's in. I guess it's back to the blackboard now AMD?

It performs a bit better than the 1100t due to the higher core clocks, 8 cores, and higher level of cache. Either way, the CPU all around is a flop.

5 years in production and it loses to a older 2500k.

AMD is funny.

Either way, a OC'd 2500k > The highest AMD FX chip out.

I was gonna build an AMD bulldozer PC soon.. but after i had heard about the benchmarks and how short it falls compared the the 2500k. I might switch over to Intel.. and i hate to do that being an AMD fan.. Those chips took toooo long just to come short or break even with the sandy bridge chips. im dissapointed.

I was really looking forward to this, if not just to drive prices down. If anything, Bulldozer is better for servers and some special tasks. They tried, but came up with nothing special. Sandy Bridge is a real phenomenon and they have something great with it. BD just couldn't touch it. I wish it had been better, too! I'm all for competition, which means better tech and lower prices. 'Tis a bummer.

That's what I'm sort of thinking. It's like...why release a more expensive chip that loses to a higher performer, cheaper, lower wattage 2500k? I can see the prices falling for all 3 of the new FX chips.

I was looking forward to the newer chips as well ( even though I already have my SB build ). Rumors were going around saying it's going to go head-to-head with the more expensive 2600k....but now we know what really happens. Lol. Hell, maybe Intel will take this huge mistake by AMD and bring Sandy Bridge E / Ivy Bridge @ a wicked price with solid performance and just destroy AMD and their FX chips.

They better not. I want that competition to keep going. I'm also building in Q1 of 2012 waiting on the next generation of graphics cards and new CPUs from Intel. I love watching new stuff come out and I want my PC to use as many new parts as I can.
